Hi-Fi Rush feels like a high-quality action game with a musical twist that even lets players with no rhythm save the day like a rockstar hero. More often than not, however, this means stumbling through levels without ever seeing the game. To give credit where it's due, Metal: Hellsinger does make players feel powerful when they keep the beat counter up, and it encourages them to keep tackling levels until they get into perfect rhythm. Conversely, Hi-Fi Rush lets players feel like a hero with rhythm superpowers, rewarding those who can match the beat without punishing those who can't. Bethesda Softworks 1 Beat-driven action game Hi-Fi Rush has been a hit among Xbox and PC players since the game’s surprise launch during the Xbox Developer Direct event on January 25, 2023. It is held back by the rhythm mechanics rather than improved by them. Metal: Hellsinger tries to accomplish the same thing, feeling like a rhythm game at its core with its FPS mechanics being secondary. Rather than adventuring through nightmarish streets filled with monsters or ghosts, 'Hi-Fi Rush' sees players doing their best to battle their way out of a bright, colorful, stylish, and evil megacorporation known as Vandelay. It gives the game a unique style and identity and perfectly combines action and rhythm games. There is, however, an adorable, robotic cat named 808. Hi-Fi Rush takes a fantastic and colorful action game that uses rhythm to add an extra layer to the gameplay and make players feel cool.
